Bryan Collier, a four-time Caldecott Honor recipient and multiple Coretta Scott King Award winner, brings Muhammad Ali's extraordinary life story to visual splendor through his distinctive watercolor and collage technique. This exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience Collier's original artwork up close, revealing the intricate details and emotional depth of his illustrations.

About the Artist

Bryan Collier is one of the most respected and accomplished illustrators in children's literature today. Born in Maryland, Collier began painting at the age of 15 and developed his signature style combining watercolor with intricate collage. After graduating from Pratt Institute with honors, he embarked on a remarkable artistic journey that has produced over 25 picture books.

Collier's work has earned numerous prestigious awards, including four Caldecott Honors and seven Coretta Scott King Awards. His illustrations powerfully capture the nuances of the African American experience through thoughtful composition, rich symbolism, and emotional resonance. Other notable works include "Martin's Big Words," "Dave the Potter," "Trombone Shorty," and "Uptown." Through his art and frequent school visits, Collier continues to inspire young readers and artists while bringing important stories to visual life.
