Women’s History Month is observed each year in March. Just like the Academy Awards, each of us can highlight the achievements of women throughout the ages. Women have made all sorts of strides, inventions and are leaders in so many fields. The choices are endless as to the direction a woman may choose to take. She may decide on multiple options because the decision is hers.
You are encouraged to use the library to discover the roles many women play in society, from traditional to non-traditional; the sky is the limit. And, if the sky is not a goal, a quiet existence works just fine, in the search for that all important niche. Visit your local library and see the tributes to women.
March is also National Nutrition Month; Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month; and Epilepsy Awareness Month. Materials on those subjects can most certainly be found at the library. Let it be your resource.
Additionally, the online resources for research, leisure reading, movies and music, are still available to you. Just log on in your spare time, 24/7 and be amazed at what you will find. Your library card offers you those opportunities. You are wise to take advantage of them. Share with others the knowledge you gain so they, too, can be amazed. It should not be a well-kept secret.
Finally, don’t forget to start reading the 2024 One Book, One Read selection, The Measure by Nikki Erlick. The date for her to be with us is set for August 10th. Stay tuned for updates.
