FCLS Library Staff shares what they've been reading lately!
A Place at the Table, by Susan Rebecca White
By Melissa Jurgens, Library Assistant
Really enjoyed A Place at the Table, by Susan Rebecca White. Set in Atlanta and New York, it follows three lonely people who make a community out of a shared love of cooking.
Followers, by Megan Angelo
By Stephanie Galipeau, Acquisitions Librarian
I really enjoyed Megan Angelo's Followers. It focuses on two characters as they chase/maintain their 15 minutes of fame. It's an unsettling novel in its portrayal of all too real dystopian future where social media dominates society, and product placement is taken to a whole new level.
Priory of the Orange Tree, by Samantha Shannon
By Geoffrey Baum, Library Associate
I read Priory of the Orange Tree, and it was really splendid. Lots of story, not pointless exposition. Surprisingly deft treatments of relationships of all types, and while the story is 'historical' in nature, it doesn't ignore the cultures/societies where it is set, but feels contemporary none the less.
