Her Body and Other Parties, by Carmen Maria Machado
By Eboné Andrews, Library Associate
I LOVE a book with short stories. It keeps things interesting, you know? If you're into "psychological realism and science fiction, comedy and horror, fantasy and fabulism," you will love this book. I was hooked after the first story. As a matter of fact, the first story is my favorite. I was shocked and had chills at the end of the story. Kinda eerie but most definitely interesting! The strain of Feminism is to be thought about while reading this book. Very feminist, very adult; but, very real and important. Hope someone enjoys it as much I did!
Still Life With Woodpecker, by Tom Robbins
By Ryland Johnson
A fantastic comic novel with deep meaning and poignant humor. One of my absolute favorites!
The City We Became, by N. K. Jemisin
Geoffrey Baum, Library Associate
Jemisin won me over with The City We Became. If American Gods had really been about American gods
