National Fiction and Film Tour Coming to Fulton County Library

The coast-to-coast “Fiction and Film” tour is heading to Ocee Library in Fulton County for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience. On August 13, 2024, from 1 - 6 p.m., visitors are invited to step inside OverDrive’s 53-foot-long Library Vehicle, the “LV”, and discover how they can check out ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and comic books for free from Fulton County Public Library using OverDrive’s Libby app. The LV is ADA Accessible, ensuring all attendees can come aboard and participate in the immersive experience.

Attendees can experience the magic of the library while learning about exciting upcoming library programs and the incredible free services offered by Fulton County Public Library. Fun events planned for the day include a getting started with Libby workshop at 1:30 p.m., Miss Gail Music at 4 p.m., and Chalk Sidewalk Art at 5 p.m. Guests can also learn how to sign up for a library card and enter for a chance to win a trip for two to New York City.

“We are excited that the Fiction and Film tour is offering a unique and engaging way for our community to connect with the resources available through Fulton County Public Library,” says Marcia Divack, Branch Group Administrator. “We invite the community to join us for a day full of fun events as we highlight the amazing digital content available through the library, as well as our events, clubs, and resources that provide learning and entertainment for everyone.”

Children will also have the opportunity to explore and engage with Peppa Pig products from LEGO® DUPLO®, Peppa Pig activity and coloring sheets, and Peppa Pig book titles. LEGO is a proud sponsor of Check Out Your Library’s Fiction and Film Tour.

The Fiction and Film tour is part of OverDrive’s ongoing "Check Out Your Library" initiative, a movement aimed at driving awareness, engagement, and love for public libraries To learn more about Check Out Your Library’s events, visit www.checkoutyourlibrary.com.
