Stories of Atlanta - She Appreciated the Help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSTNoyCfj2E
Visit the Stories of Atlanta YouTube page for the tale of how the Carnegie Library of Atlanta was established with the help of tenacious librarian, Anne Wallace. It also introduces one of the Library's most famous patrons, Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone With the Wind". From riding her pony to The Carnegie as a young girl with her brother, Stephens, to researching her novel, Ms. Mitchell was a lifelong user of the Carnegie Library. Following her death, Margaret left many artifacts, gifts, awards, books, and personal photographs to be housed and displayed in the library for free. The Special Collections department is the curator of the collection with a permanent display on the third floor of the Central Library.
