Summer Reading for the win

There are several benefits to Summer Reading for everyone. One of the main benefits for children and teens is, it will help keep their learning skills up and help them maintain their learning skills.   Therefore, when they return to school they are at the same learning level or have improved to a higher learning level.

For older patrons Summer Reading or reading, in general, helps improve memory.  Some doctors are now prescribing reading for some of their older patrons to assist with memory and keeping their brains active.

Currently, the library system is in the second month of our yearly Summer Reading Challenge.  Patrons are encouraged to join the reading challenge and complete it by reading 5 books. Most branches are awarding participants with a branch prize and their name will go into a drawing for a system-wide prize.
