The Northside Stable and the Great Naming Competition

2025 brings the Second Annual Northside Derby.

We have expanded our stable from 5 horses to 9! We have let our imaginations run wild! We also expanded the fun to include a Name the Horses Competition.

The Second Annual Northside Derby is the same day as the Kentucky Derby. Join us Saturday, May 3 to Run for the Roses! Wear your hat!

Horse Stats:

Each horse is carefully crafted from one 4 ½ foot Styrofoam pool noodle

Each horse is professionally cut from varying colors of card stock and painstakingly fitted with their own individualized mane.

Mane material used: blue yarn, white yarn, multicolor yarn, white pipe cleaner, and blue pipe cleaner.

Each horse has googly eyes

All horses are represented

1- Sea Horse

1- Pegasus

1- Unicorn

5- Thoroughbreds

1- Narwhal-not a horse but you cannot have a unicorn without a narwhal. It's a rule.

Then, wear your derby hat to participate or observe the Northside Derby.

The Derby will be on Saturday, May 3rd  10 am - 11:30 am in our own Meeting Room Racecourse.  All ages are welcome to participate!
