Welcome Back East Point Library!

On January 28, 2025, the Fulton County Library System hosted a remarkable reopening celebration for the East Point Library, allowing community members to explore the newly renovated facility. This extensive makeover includes several thoughtful additions aimed at meeting the needs and preferences of both library staff and patrons. The renovated library aims to create a more enjoyable and efficient environment for all users.

One of the notable features of the upgrade is the addition of more meeting and study spaces, responding to the enthusiastic demands of the community. The former Periodicals Room has been transformed into a new Multi-Purpose Meeting Room, suitable for hosting community events, workshops, and gatherings. Additionally, a newly designed Study Room provides a quiet area conducive to focused work or study sessions. The library has strategically consolidated the adult stacks to create a dedicated Teen Area, making it easier for young adults to access relevant resources.

The Children’s Area has also been enhanced. It now features an expanded Story Time zone, offering captivating storytelling sessions for children. Moreover, a new Craft Room has been established to foster creativity and engagement among younger patrons. This expansion alleviates some of the pressure on the existing large Meeting Room, ensuring a more comfortable experience for all users. New soundproof partitions have been installed to distinctly separate the adult and children’s areas, contributing to a more tranquil atmosphere.

The East Point Branch Library goes beyond its primary function as a library, serving as a valuable resource and an inclusive community hub in East Point, Georgia. Its vibrant children’s department, characterized by engaging furniture and an inviting mural, provides a welcoming space for younger visitors. Cozy reading corners encourage children to enjoy literature and designated children's computers to facilitate learning and exploration.

For teenagers and adults, the library offers a comprehensive range of services. Users can access various resources, including online content, computer facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a diverse selection of physical and electronic books, as well as virtual programs accessible from home. The library includes study rooms conducive to both collaborative projects and individual study, a spacious meeting room designed for community activities, and aesthetically pleasing reading areas that promote relaxation. Abundant natural light from tall windows contributes to a bright and uplifting atmosphere throughout the library.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by the cozy café for refreshments during their visit. The library’s convenient hours and accessible location on Main Street in downtown East Point make it easy to reach. It is surrounded by local restaurants, banks, City Hall, the police department, Grady Hospital, and numerous residential conveniences, establishing it as a vibrant and welcoming destination for all community members.

Library staff will benefit from an improved work environment; the Branch Manager’s Office has been enlarged, and additional storage space has been created, resulting in a more efficient workspace that enhances the team’s ability to serve the community effectively.
