My name is Trinity Watson, and I am 10 years old. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My first experience as an artist was when my mother and grandmother introduced me to arts and crafts when I was two years old. Doing arts and crafts has helped me develop my creativity and imagination skills. Later, my father showed me how to draw with pencil and paper. My father inspired me to continue with my passion for drawing.   By also attending art classes at school, I was able to explore new ideas and think outside the box. I experimented with different materials and learned how to use them in diverse ways.

Making art is a great, safe way to discover a sense of achievement and allows me to take pride and build self-confidence. When I am working on a piece of art, I escape from reality and envision myself in my art. My artwork fuels my curiosity, my creativity and provides me with an outlet to observe, express, explore, and excel through creating things. I considered myself a self-taught artist with the help of my surrounding peers. I hope my artwork will inspire other young artists like myself to the freedom of creating and experimenting with innovative ideas.

I recently entered the National Arts Program Contest with Fulton County. This was my first competition, and I came in third place. I was excited to be part of this event and be listed as one of the top three.
