ATLANTA, GA – The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History, in partnership with the Fulton County Library System and The Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation, is excited to announce a special raffle event. Each library branch will be providing three sets of the late Georgia Congressman John Lewis's award-winning graphic novel series, March, to their communities.
The March series, donated by Penguin Random House and Top Shelf Productions, chronicles the life and legacy of Congressman John Lewis, a civil rights icon and advocate for social justice. This inspiring series has been acclaimed for its powerful storytelling and historical significance.
Raffle Details:
- Entry Period: From now until February 28, 2025.
- How to Enter: Visit any Fulton County Library System branch to enter the raffle. Patrons can submit their name, library card number, and a contact phone number or email and place it in the designated raffle box.
- Drawing Date: On February 28, 2025, each branch will randomly select three winners and contact them.
- Prize Distribution: The books will be available for the winners to collect on February 28, 2025.
We encourage all patrons to participate in this unique opportunity to own a piece of history.
About March: March is a graphic novel trilogy co-written by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, illustrated by Nate Powell. The series tells the story of Lewis's involvement in the Civil Rights Movement, highlighting key events like the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington, and the Selma to Montgomery marches. Through powerful storytelling and illustrations, it emphasizes the importance of nonviolent protest and the ongoing fight for justice.
